Title: BT come round to our way of thinking - at last
Post by: kinmel on Oct 01, 2008, 14:25:33

BT reckon fitting a faceplate filter will improve ADSL line performance.

Details at EL Reg (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/01/bt_broadband_boost/)

Soon they will realise that abandoning bRAS/ IP profiling, Adaptive Max Logic and all the other crud they have put in the way would boost throughput too !

It's about time! I prefer a filtered faceplate, but this solution should work almost, if not just as, well. :thumb:

I'm not convinced we'll being seeing bRAS profiles disappearing, though. :)

I still think disconnecting the ring wire is as easy, and more effective. :)

I think that is what the plate simulates Rik, from reading the blurb on the BT site it just isolates the bell wire, what a revolutionary step ::)

It only does it at the master socket though, Gary, not at the extensions, so it's not as effective.

Well that really solved the issue then, Rik ;D I think a filtered adsl nation faceplate and removing the bell wire yourself works best
