Any known problems with these 2 or should it be a simple job of plugging the network cable from my router in my PC and off we go?
I've not had any problems with my vista and netgear dg834g v3 router.
only trouble you may get is seeing a shared folder on a xp machine. but this is a problem between vista and xp and plently about it on google.

thanks Lona, :fingers: I'll have no problems tomorrow ;D
Just remember to change the name of your workgroup on Vista to MSHOME as that's what XP uses.

just out of interest Paul  which PSU did you get, for future reference you understand ;D
it was a old 650w out from the spares box.
but most people say the Corsair TX 650W is a good psu but make sure it fits your case ;D

Theoretically, routers should be OS independent, but then theory doesn't always equal reality. :P
Still, you should have no problems, Philip. :)
