I'm not asking for myself here, but has anyone any ideas about what on earth might be happening if, when you play Heardles* you get different tunes on different browsers/devices and they only sync if you repeatedly clear the cookies? It just sounds like the most extraordinary  hassle, and huge puzzle.

*It's an online game that plays a short burst of a song which you have 6 goes to guess. There are different decades and themes.

Thanks. I've found the manual online. (I wasn't sure if I needed to set it up on my phone or my laptop so your answer is helpful.)

That should be in your router settings. My IDNet supplied ASUS RT-AX-AX53U router came preconfigured with the same password for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. If you have the same router it's on the first page you see after login, left hand side. Otherwise you'll need to navigate to the appropriate area in your router to retrieve or set a new password.

If you can't find what you are looking for leave a post with your router type and I'm sure someone here will be able to help with the necessary details

Tricky to know if this should be in the mobile section or here. Anyway. Wrestling a little with getting my usually trusty mobile to connect to the home WiFi (it's fine now, by the way) I see I have a 5G option. How do you set a password up for that? It won't accept the one I use for the non 5G option.

The most likely explanation is there is something within the site (which could be any number of things) hijacking your keystrokes. You might be able to test for this by clicking a non-interactive space like the site background to see if it gives you a temporary fix.

Before you say anything, I have checked that caret browsing is off.

There is one site I use that won't now let me scroll using the up down arrows on my laptop. I have tried clearing the cache and this works, but only for a few seconds. It's been fine in the past, although there have been several Firefox updates recently. Thoughts, ideas?

A disclaimer first- I'm an Apple fan!

Apple are rather stingy when it comes to RAM

They are, and they're also more expensive and tend to be non-expandable, but there are other factors...

Apple have (at least) a reputation for being better at memory management than Microsoft (so you may not need as much), and their M-series processors are seriously quick... even if hindered a bit by a seeming shortage of physical RAM it's not inconceivable that it could still be faster than a fully-RAMmed Intel-powered machine at some tasks.

Good luck in deciding which to go for 

Personal note- I don't do any heavy work on my machines these days so can't comment on that, but I just find Macs nicer to drive
