Quote from: Niall on Mar 24, 2008, 02:58:21Oh and while I'm thinking about it, when you post on these forums, it says "alt + s" will post. That is only the case for IE now as they changed Firefox a few versions ago, so it no longer does that, which irritates me immensely!
There's a way round that, Niall. If you open a new FF window, and type
about:config in the address bar, when you hit Enter, you should see a long page of configuration options. Go to the bottom and look for:
ui.key.chromeAccess
ui.key.contentAccessRight click each one, select Modify and swap the integers round, so chromeAccess becomes 5 and contentAccess becomes 4. Close the window, and Alt+S should then work to send messages on forums. :)
How on earth did you find that one out, Simon? :karma:
Look slike Simon has way too much time on his hands ;D
It annoyed me too! ;)
Thanks so much, Simon. This has always irritated me! I will give you a karma when back on my PC!
Okay, all done. :karmic:
Thanks, Seb, glad to help! :)
Yay! Ta for that. That's been irritating me for ages. The last time I looked into it, there wasn't a work around.
I use firefox, but I think my observation skills are lacking. I never noticed the shortcut message.
I hope I am not missing any other tricks out there ::)
It's not something that's explicitly mentioned, Bob. Alt+S is just a shortcut to submit a form, but you need to adjust the settings to do so in Firefox. :)

You won't see the message if you use the QR box, Bob, but on a normal reply, it's shown just above the buttons, see below.

It does still work with the QR box though. :)
A massive bump, but a worthwhile one I feel given the number of users who might have swapped from IE to firefox in recent years.
I've just used this again on FireFox 4 on my work laptop as it was annoying me not being able to use the shortcut! Firefox hadn't previously been installed on the machine.
A bump?? Are you using a wrecking ball? ;D
Nope, just the search function ;D
;D
I thought I'd travelled in time - I had hair when I started this thread! ;D
I had a waist!
I've still got one!
Ah, but is it convex or concave?
Definitely convex! ;D
;D
