Title: Setting max number of connections
Post by: mrapoc on Mar 13, 2008, 17:30:46
I was wondering if there is an option here (http://home/xslt?PAGE=E13&THISPAGE=E05&NEXTPAGE=E13) to increase max number of connections - I think its this that is locking up my connection during/after using utorrent (yes it locks up for at least 2 minutes after closing utorrent...)

Plus it could solve my issue of not being able to find many gaming servers compared to my previous speedtouch 580 (3000 odd compared to the previous 7000+)

Cheers

Have you unchecked the 'excessive connection' box, Sam?

Was unchecked by default  ???

Only things i can think of is to patch my tcpip.sys (proving difficult on 64bit vista...)
And to turn off UPNP (if it isnt already)

That would be a useful diagnostic, Sam, the more things we can eliminate, the closer we should get. Well, that's the theory anyway. ;)

Like I said before, I fresh install of utorrent sorted it for me. I think my problems started around the last time there was a update for utorrent which just installs over the top of the existing files.

It does allow me to surf on my laptop during the lockup - Just got the latest Utorrent too...

hmm will see

Did you do a fresh install of utorrent, or just install the update? I had to do a fresh install to get it sorted.

Its actually the TCPIP limit in vista locking it down....

Gone back to XP x64 now - lets hope i dont have the same issue (is there even a xp x64 tcpip patch??)

I take it you have no control over that, Sam. I do hate it when an OS takes control away from me. :(

Have you viewed the evid patch site;

Don't know if it works with vista but I'm using it with XP and have it set at 90.
No probs with 2700 working with this and on a good d/l site I can d/l @ between 400 and 800.
