:bawl:I'm trying to get the most out of my router, considering the poor speed in my area (https://availability.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SSTRY)
Any tips or help appreciated.

Have you got an OpenReach-fitted faceplate?
How far from the exchange are you? I'm guessing a couple of miles.
Are you paying for the business version of ADSL MAX?
I'm using the mk4 combined vdsl/adsl faceplate. Also priority gaming service.
How far from the exchange? That (5.3Mbps) seems a pretty good speed if you're more than a mile from it.
Sam knows-
You are approximately 2.94km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!
That's getting on for two miles. You're achieving 5Mbps down and nearly 1Mbps up. Not bad at all.
Most ADSL MAX connections are 448kbps up, which allows for a slightly greater download speed.
I'm afraid that the distance factor will have kicked in "interleaving" which will impact on your ping times. Nothing you can do about that I'm afraid, except set up camp outside the exchange. ;)
