On attempting to change my email address I am told that it is already in use. So I am pretty certain I must have entered it in the past under another user name. How can I address this small problem pleased? TIA
You'll either need to choose a different email address, or contact your email provider who may be able to delete the old address.
I can do that, but will I then be able to alter my new address in IDnetters to the one I have deleted for my mail server?
I will now try a better explanation. I am registered here as Broadback with email address "A", I wish to change it to email address "B", but the system says that is is already in use, so I must have registered it with a different name some time ago and forgotten it. Can I get rid of the old unused log in and re-register the address to my current one of Broadback? There must be a large number of redundant log in details. Are you stuck with them? Might it be an idea to have everyone re-register at given periods?
What has it got listed in your IDnet account dashboard, does it have the account you can't log on to?
Another possibility is another user has registered that account.
If you PM one of us the email address you want to use, ie, the one which it's saying is in use, we can have a look at that account and see if there is anything we can do, but we can't delete accounts as that would leave 'holes' in existing threads on the forum.
