We are being bombarded with adverts for internet providers and programmes to find the cheapest. None of these seem to take account of the service offered. Are any providers faster than others? If I mover elsewhere it may be cheaper, but will it be as good or better?
The speed depends on a lot of things, ie, whether the service is port throttled or traffic managed, and, of course, the quality of the line. The former is down to the ISP, but the latter isn't, so if you have a bad line, then moving to another broadband provider may not make much difference. I guess it's how they handle complaints, and work with BT to get faults fixed that makes the difference, so a service with a knowledgeable UK based support team would be paramount to any decision I was making about using an ISP.
Fast, Reliable and Cheap - pick any two , it's probably still true.

I agree with Steve, you generally can't have them all but you can end up with just cheap.
