Title: Tom Tom troubles?
Post by: Glenn on Apr 04, 2012, 08:04:28
TomTom has blamed a "leap year bug" for a fault causing some of its satellite navigation devices to malfunction.

The firm said that a problem with its global positioning system firmware - code embedded into the devices - was causing "a limited number of models" to fail to identify their location.

Potentially affected navigation devices are:
Start 20/25, Via 120/125, Via LIVE 120/125, GO LIVE 820/825, GO LIVE 1000/1005/1005 World.

Phew, mine is OK. I do wonder why they've updated the app about three times in the past 6-8 weeks though.

So, is there a device/company that has not hit a leapyear bug/DST but?
I don't know a single device that failed due to the 2000 bug. Yet, normal every day devices just fail.
