A new Kindle has arrived and as my router refuses to transmit Wi Fi (dont go there) can the books etc be transferred via the usb lead ? I cant find anything which answers this and dont wish to buy a new router until March time
Any help (non tecchy as Im thick ) is really appreciated
TIA
Depends which version you have. One if Wi-fi only and the other is both 3G and Wi-fi.
My mum just bought one, and she's the sort of person that refuses to read instructions, so still hasn't used it. Now I've set her homepage to the Kindle help page on Amazon :D
Oops, forgot to add, I think you only connect it to USB to charge it. I could be wrong though, as I haven't used it yet, as I'm refusing to touch it until my mum accepts the fact that she will at some point have to read a bloody manual.
Sorry, David, I have no idea either. :dunno: Have you tried?
Thanks Niall that is the issue the usb seems to just have the one funtion and this is to charge it wont transfer data !!! so I guess its back to the damn router :bawl:
Such fun
Thanks have a good one and appreciate your post :thumb:

Hope this helps anyone else here and I never thought the day would come when I helped someone on anything
Hope this helps
I find this a useful piece of software if the books are not in Kindle format (Mobi) - http://calibre-ebook.com/ (it's free)
I always do things the hard way Steve ;D but still downloading that for future
It's good for converting some of the free books in other formats i.e. epub, it will also help remove something that your not supposed to. ;)
Not his trousers? :eek4:

Apprentice Alf's Blog is the only clue I'm giving.
I had better have a read then and not on a blooming Kindle I prefer to have reall books with lots of pictures ;D but I assume there could be a PG on his blog, another mystery to me blogging :dunno:
