Title: OK, but it's historical
Post by: Rik on Dec 24, 2010, 17:42:47
If anyone wants it, I have a copy of Vista Ultimate, never been opened. It'll take you a week to patch it, of course, but if anyone would like it, drop me a PM.

How much do you want for it Rik?

Nothing, Griff, it's just been sat on the desk gathering dust ever since MS gave it to me - I figured it was time to clear some space.

I'll take it off you hands if that's ok?

Obviously if someone else comes along and they have a greater need for it then give it to them instead.

Brilliant :)

Giving away a free copy of an MS OS on Christmas Eve, and only one person wants to take, even then it seems begrudgingly :)

Sorry - it just made me smile.

If you've got old hardware lying around I reckon you should try selling it to the US Department of Defense as they've just built a cluster of 1760 PS3s http://www.neatorama.com/2010/12/01/us-air-force-builds-supercomputer-with-1760-playstation-3-consoles/

Begrudgingly? I don't think so..

Ensuring no-one else with a greater need missed out - Yes..

Ebuyer seemed to be giving away free copies of Windows 7 with any barebone system. I was tempted to get a £200 system just for windows 7, then sell the PC on. :P
Oh, and two years ago I saw a copy of Microsoft Office for DOS for sale in a charity store. It was on floppies, and up at £30.  :slap:
