Post by: g7pkf on Nov 08, 2010, 14:23:21

Has anyone with a 2700 got facetime working?

Not sure if it's corporate or my firewall being an arse.

think it's my corporate but want to be sure :)

The 2700 firewall defaults to most pinholes closed, you need to have port forwarding enabled for ports 443 (TCP), 3478–3497 (UDP), 5223 (TCP) 16384–16387 (UDP), and 16393–16402 (UDP) in the Firewall Settings page.

There is an Apple Support Document HERE (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4245)

Yes i saw that but i did not think the 2700 restricted outbound just inbound and does this mean that you can only have 1 facetime device behind the router?

I haven't had any issues with Facetime and a 2700.

If its  necessary to forward ports then you will only be able to have one device.
Facetime is based on SIP and this http://youshottheinvisibleswordsman.co.uk/2010/06/25/iphone4-facetime-and-open-standards/
seems to indicate that it uses STUN and TURN automatically if necessary to get around NAT issues.
It really shouldn't be a problem but you might try experimenting with enabling/disabling the SIP Application Layer Gateway on the 2700
Its here http://home/xslt?PAGE=J30&THISPAGE=J01&NEXTPAGE=J30 on a v5 firmware , I'm sure Alan will advise where it is on v6.
