I have just gone from ADSL Max to ADSL2+ (following a recent 21CN upgrade at my local exchange). Upgrade completed today. Sync is showing as: 834 / 15,889 on my TG585. Is there anything I should be expecting (or anything I should do - router reboot for example)? Speedtest.net is reporting FAR slower downloads now compared to Max - Is this due to another settling in period?

There is a new training period with ADSL2+ and I think it's simply a case that your profile needs time to catch up. Give it a few days. If you feel there's no improvement then, or want to know anyway, run a BT test, which will report the profile.

I would like to do the BT speed test (hopefully to see how things improve over the next few days), but I need a "service id" from my ISP. Does anyone know what that would be? Is it just my phone number?

You don't, ignore that field and just put your phone number in. On the second page, enter your idnet username and password.

They look fine to me. You have interleaving on, but that's probably a good thing given the error count, it will add 10-20ms to your ping times, but improve stability.
Thanks for your help (again) Rik. I'll see if there is anything I can do about those errors and I'll post back in a few days with another speed test.
There's little you can do other to reduce electrical noise on the phone circuit, eg disconnect the ring wire if you haven't already, disconnect your Sky box if you have one (unless you have multiroom), remove any flat extensions in use etc.
Have just powered down the router, removed an old extension that ran upstairs (no longer in use) and fired the router back up and my sync speed has gone DOWN!? :(

Give it time Conran & things should settle down. Also note you're 'checking' during the exchanges possible congested period.

...which is closer to the 9000 profile. Just need to sit back and wait for the profile to increase now.
Rik, how can you tell whether interleave is on from those stats?
FEC = forward error correction which is part of the interleave process,you find some information here (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm) although this relates to adslmax the process is similar i believe.
The other thing, Conrad, is that your re-synced during the evening when noise is on the increase. You'll get a better speed, generally, with a morning resync.

I'm not sure. It is on the cards, though. Do you need that much upload speed?
Not using the upload bandwidth at the moment, but I'm playing with apache (hosting 5 sites right now) and am thinking about setting up mail on the server too. I think having Annex M will give me some breathing room before I splash out on a data-centre solution (or maybe keep it at home with SDSL?).
