Title: iHologram - pretty cool

It may not serve much of a purpose, but it shows just what can be done.

Its not bad but new TV's are being introduced that use the real3D system this year or a variant of it with 3D blu-ray players, I'm sure phone screens will go that way as well, then you will get something truly mind blowing, if a little over the top for your home or phone. Saying that watching Avatar in 3D was amazing  :)

You're right Seb. I'm just not saying which part I agree with. ;D

All I mean is, it's interesting what people are able to do with apps.

So if a 3d application looks shiny it's now a hologram?

But Holograms are 3D as you can see all around them, like holographic projections of people for video conferencing.

That's what I was getting at. It's a 3D application that allows you to look around it using the tilting mechanic that phone supports. I just don't see how a 3D application on a 2D device can be classed as a hologram. If it projected it above the phone, then that would be a holographic projection to behold :D

Now I see what you mean, that would be cool

It's a small step onto the same road. I'm impressed that we got this far just now.

The thing is the iPhone screen is not meant to be 3D really, 2010 will see 3D laptops and TV's which for now I see as a gimmick until the technology matures, seeing Avatar in 3D was breathtaking but even that is still not there yet, along with the 3D bluray players tat will be released in 2010 it all seems a bit rushed just to get us once again to spend, and truth be told I am not that concerned with 3D in my home, and will not be for a long while to come.
