There's also one by Kaspersky. I just don't see the point.

I agree, the time will come, and I'd rather use Eset than Kaspersky, but not while it mucks your fonts up ;D

Snow Leopard has some sort of anti-malware built in. Tbh, I'd almost be happy to run Windows without antivirus. So much of the problem is the user.

All it does its notify you that a program may have one of two known Trojans in its database, macs are just as suseptable to Phising and social engineering traps as any other machine, the anti-malware is limited and will not remove those trojans if you have them, with Macs becoming more popular the day will come, Eset at least is quite and unobtrusive, when its been out of beta and depending on reviews I may well use it, I am not naive to think Macs are impervious, in fact even though I love mine, Snow Leopard is not as well built against malware as Vista or Windows 7, but with a market share of 6% we are not a big target right now.
