Title: Canon Printer Problem
Post by: Simon on Jul 05, 2009, 18:17:35
A friend has a Canon all in one printer / scanner / copier (sorry, don't know the model), and when they try to print a document, although it makes all the right noises, and the display claims to be printing, the paper just whizzes through with nothing being printed.  I've had a quick look, and can't see anything that shouldn't be there, like pens, paper clips, etc.  Any ideas, anyone?

Glenn, I refitted the cartridges, but have no idea about the print heads.

Rik, it was printing photos one day, then this happened the next.  No reason to think the drivers have been corrupted, but I suppose it might be worth reinstalling.

No, it occasionally stops for about a 10th of a second, but then it just spits out a blank page, Baz.

It sounds to me like the print heads are clogged, Simon. Try running the cleaning routine on the printer.

I'll try and get the printer over to my place at some point, to try these things out.  Thanks for the suggestions guys.  :thumb:
