I have this installed on the notebook and have just installed it on the netbook.
If I look in MSConfig > Selective startup, the Nokia launch application is shown to run on both machines. However, it doesn't run on the notebook (ie it doesn't show in Task Manager > Processes), but I can still start PC Suite manually. OTOH, on the netbook, it does run. If I disable it on either machine, launching the main program causes the installer to trigger to turn it 'back on'.
Now, it doesn't really matter that much, I just hate not being able to understand the difference between what's happening on the two machines. Anyone got any ideas please? The only thing I can think of is that the presence of Bluetooth on the netbook forces the launch app to startup, whereas on the notebok, which only has the option of a USB cable connection, it doesn't. Does that make any sense?
My guess would be that you've told one of them not to start with windows within the settings for the program, which is different to windows just stopping the process from loading. Just a guess!
That would be my only thought as well, Lance. If you click the File menu from the main screen, Rik, you should see the option at the bottom to 'Invoke at startup' (as below).
I have a different issue with my PC Suite, in that it seems to intermittently crash on startup, causing 99% CPU usage, and, of course, nothing else to work. Anyone else had that happen?

You got it, it was set to invoke at startup, but oddly, the option on the version I am running was tucked away on the file menu, so I hadn't spotted it. :karma:
I hate the pc suite, it uninstalls very badly and leaves so much clutter behind its a nightmare, after all this time you think Nokia could make a decent suite :( I installed it on my mothers pc so I don't have to have it around on mine ;D
It's not as bad as the Sony one, Gary, that refuses to uninstall at all. Mind you, we know ways round that, don't we. :)
I managed to uninstall the Sony one, and did so because it was rubbish!
It wouldn't go using it's own routine, so I used the delete button and regedit. :)
I'd recommend YourUninstaller for recalcitrant programs. It tries to persuade them nicely at first, then puts it's foot down if they won't comply. :)

Another option is to get a Mac, where remnants of old programs don't get left behind. :whistle: ;)
Or that. Glenn forces me to buy a new freezer, you're trying to get me to buy a new computer - I can't think where this sort of beahviour started. :whistle: ;D
