I know/think iv asked about this before, but a large majority of servers i could "see" mainly whilst playing counter strike source, are now hidden to me (i can still connect using ip or via xfire).
The servers in call of duty 4 also seem to be of a low number and are generally reported at a much higher ping than what they actually are (much lower after connecting).
Any ideas?
All was "well" when using my speedtouch router
As you know, Sam, I know nothing about gaming, but my first thought would be port forwarding needing to be done manually?
The thing is i cant see anything on the net about which ports need forwarding (if any) for counter strike source.

SpeedTouch has UPnP, but the 2Wire doesn't, that could be the reason.
And this (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/2wire/BT2700HG-V/Counter_Strike.htm) should be the answer for the 2Wire (that page is specifically for Counterstrike, by the way). ;)
I think both Games use Steam, for which you need to open the following ports:-
Steam Client 27030-27039(TCP) and 1200,27000-27015(UDP)
Steam Server 27015(TCP) and 27015-27020(UDP)
Sebby's link tells you how to do it for this router
thanks guys
will try it out
