Hi
I'm plotting my escape from Plusnet and digging a tunnel to iDnet. Not looking for anything outrageous, 40/10 will do me nicely.

However, I'm really puzzled. This forum is so quiet. Does that mean that the service is so good that no-one needs to mention problems here?

Those of you who have been with PN and used their forums will understand my question  :)

Welcome to Netters! :) Apart from a few individual local line issues there haven't been any service problems reported here in quite a while.

ZZZzzzzzzzzz......

Just about sums up IDNet most of the time. It's a bit like turning on a tap only to find the water flows just as it did the day before, and the day before that , just as you'd expect.

OK things aren't perfect all the time but I have had very few issues and the plumbers at IDNet Mansions are usually quick to fit a new washer or do whatever else is needed.

It's why some of us have to content ourselves with silly games, as there's nothing else to do here!   :red:

There's no one using mine at the moment, but it looks nothing like that.

Thanks, it's always helpful to know how widespread it is.  Miriam said she'd had a few other calls with similar problems reported in the locale, so I suspect Openreach have unplugged the network to put the kettle on; it usually turns out to be their fault or Zen's fault.  She's on the case anyway, so hopefully things will be resolved later on.   :)

Rather need to use the connection today, but that's always the way!

I think we're finally back in business.  Apparently the outage was caused by a problem between data centres in London and Manchester affecting a number of ISPs, which seems like it might have been resolved in the last few minutes.  Well done to Miriam from IDNet for updating their network status page with the problem and being able to tell me what the problem was when I called and that it was being worked on.

I came back here after 3 years with PN. To be fair to PN their service was mostly very good. But every now and again it would go a bit wobbly. When that happened it could be a hard slog to get it fixed and it was getting harder. I just decided I'd had enough. Things rarely go wrong here anyway but if they do Support will work to resolve it.

Thanks very much for the feedback - sorry if I broke the internet for some of you  :red:

So in other words, it just works - and if it stops there's someone who helps to fix it. WOW!  :)

I may be fairly unique as I have both IDNet and Plusnet and find both are good.   8-)

Well, router arrived when it was supposed to, transfer happened when it was supposed to - down for about an hour, if that.

Had a couple of queries before going live, all sorted no mess, no fuss

It all just works  :thumb:

39996 kbps down
7364 kbps up

Thank you IDNet!

Up till recently I have always used Canon printers and loved them, but got fed up when they did not upgrade their drivers for newer Windows so I always had problems.

I swapped over to a Epson Expression XP-860 and use cheap compatible inks from Cartridge Discount and find that the quality is just as good for a lower cost.  ;D

It's his age Nowster.  Of course we all hope to get there one day in the distant future.
