TP-Link Archer VR900 and Google Wifi
« on: Apr 08, 2017, 08:36:22 »
I've ordered a Google Wifi twin pack (wifi/router, arriving Monday). In order to get over double NAT issues I was going to put the VR900 in Bridge Mode. However different to every other modem/router I've ever had there is no simple Bridge Mode option. I've found some instructions of a similar setup. http://blog.jeffcosta.com/2011/09/29/create-a-wireless-n-bridge-with-2-inexpensive-tp-link-routers/ But this is a little outside my comfort zone, so to go through it step by step.
1. Change IP address on VR900
2. Turn off wifi
3. Turn off DCHP
4. Turn on WDS
Should that do it???
I'm saving my current config before I try any of this obviously.
Thanks in advance for any comments or help with this!

Can you not set the 'Internet connection Type' to Bridge mode using the dropdown box on the Internet Setup screen. I use a Tp link 9970 as a modem and that has that the above option. Using a VR900, however, makes a very expensive modem!
