Netgear90 problem running GEnie

When attempting to update my Netgear using Genie is get this message:

"Either the Ethernet adapter is disabled, or no Ethernet adapter is installed on this computer. Either enable or add an Ethernet adapter, and run the application again.

Click Retry to retest for a working adapter, or click Exit to run this on a computer with a working adapter."
Now I can use a different router with no problems, any ideas please? I deserted IDNet just under year ago, and thought the Netgear would make a good spare router, however I cannot seem to set it up.
Any help and suggestions appreciated. TIA
